Hey everybody, this is OnlyDads Podcast coming to you on a Saturday, May 9th. Uh it's about 11 o'clock in the uh in the actually morning time. Uh reason why that is because, well, Amazon built a hub in our town. And although people in the community are maybe getting their packages sooner, uh, it's hurting the post office. Uh routes, I think my last cow I just heard today, there's about 25 routes gonna be cut and we're not getting any overtime at all. So it's nice in the sense that you know you're not gonna work your K-day. So I'm my K Day has to be Monday, so I'm getting Sunday, Monday off. So it's nice that I can look forward to that, but it still sucks for those routes that are getting cut from the city side. But that being said, that's not what we we're gonna cover. A few topics today, guys. We're gonna be going over the UF UFOs, we're gonna be going over the Hunter virus, and we're gonna be ending on sports. And I thought we'd address the elephant in the room, obviously, and that's the UFOs. Why are we talking about that? Well, the reason why we're talking about that is because uh President Trump wanted to direct the Secretary of War and other departments and agencies to begin the process of identifying and releasing government files. Now, this is a link that we're gonna include in the description. It's directly the site is war.gov forward slash UFO. And you can read that it reads like this in response to President Donald Trump's directive for transparency on U.S. government information regarding unidentified anomalous phenomena, the Department of War with support from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence is overseeing government-wide efforts to expeditiously find, review, identify, declassify, and publicly release unresolved UAP-related records and historical documents in the federal government. Now, that's huge. It's something that you know, tenfold hat people have been wanting to do, something that people have been clamoring for in a terms in like in the the in the voice of transparency. We should be transparent with our population and put everything out there. And this is a lot of stuff to go through. It's a lot, it all got released on May 8th. It's all on there. You can download. I'll just go on over a few of them. I just downloaded a couple of files before we got on the podcast. But the one I want to mention, which is the one that stuck out to me, because it's easier, let the news organizations read it. And that's one of the sources I read was uh the Apollo 17 missions. Literally, when they were on the moon, they saw bright lights like fireworks on the moon. And they reported this. Obviously, we didn't hear about this literally till to like to now, which is insane. You think about it, they're on the on the moon. They released in outer space on the moon, and there's about these three triangle argument uh objects that are in the the corner, and then they were there and they saw these bright lights. Like, what could that be? And like rotating things, so that to me was huge. That confirms for me my suspicions, and that being that you know we're not alone in the universe. I think our universe is too big for us to be alone, and I think it makes sense. I'm glad that we're finally in a time and space where we can have a good, honest, open discussion about UFOs. This is the kid of me. This is, I guess, pretty exciting. Uh, but Ricky, what are your thoughts?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so it's two things. One, it's interesting for sure, but two, I'm kind of like hesitant, like why now? And again, I this is kind of a theme for me, like why, like I always try to think about, you know, especially when it comes from government, like why is this happening now? Is it a distraction from you know the abysmal state of the Iran conflict? Is it a a distraction from the Epstein files? We don't know, but what we do know is that these files, you know, have been released. Now, they are not created by the FBI. Um, these are files that have been collected by other agencies and then sent to the FBI or NASA. So, for example, like the the one that you're talking about, the light on the moon, uh, NASA has that, right? So NASA had that, handed it over to the government, and then the government kept it. Um, and so it's important to say that because you know, just because an object or a picture is in the files doesn't really mean that it has like the stamp of approval in terms of like it's quote unquote real. I saw one picture of like these two men holding up what appear to be like a small monkey, like a hairless monkey, like it was that size, uh like a small chimp. Um, and you know, maybe it was an alien, I don't know, but just because it's in the file doesn't mean it's real. But with that being said, I think it is cool that they're just releasing it. I hope to see more because there's only like I don't know, a couple hundred files so far, and like there's no way that's all they have. Um, and so I do like the president's like uh opinion of this, where it's just like let the American people decide. It should be like that for a lot of other things, though, you know. Um not just for this one thing, for example, like the Epstein files being released, like it should have been that where it's like, well, let the American people decide, you know, like here's all the information we have, y'all figure it out. Like, you know, uh, and then same thing with the aliens, the UFOs, you know, it's been just in my lifetime. I I remember growing up, and aliens were just something that uh always were kind of like interesting to me, but you never get taken serious, you know what I mean? Like if you say aliens, like matter of fact, I have two friends at school. I asked them if they believed in aliens, and for the most part, they're like, No, I don't think so. And it was weird because these were younger kids, you know, these are people that are like in college supposed to be extremely open-minded. Uh the future, yeah, and and you know, they kind of came at it with like this, nah, it's just kind of silly. And I'm like, man, it's still there, you know, that that uh mindset of if you talk about aliens, it's ridiculous. Like it's still there. And what's weird is I don't know if that's if that mentality is in other countries, because it's here in America because of how ingrained conspiracy theories and how crazy um people are portrayed on on movies and stuff, like for example, the guy from uh um Independence Day, like the the pilot, where he was like everybody in his town thought he was crazy. Um that's how people are treated if they say I believe in aliens or whatever. Um, and I thought it kind of went away with the way things have been moving in the world, but apparently not, it's still there. And it's cool to see that, you know, with as much as progress have as we made in other aspects of life, like you know, socially and stuff like that, like now, maybe, you know, maybe we're in a place where we can accept that we're not alone.

SPEAKER_01

And I think it's good that we're having this discussion because you know, we give credence to this, you know, the boogie men or the stuff under the bed. I'm glad that we're having a discussion because the things that come to mind for me are two things. One, I remember watching the X-Files growing up, and it was huge. I remember, and of course, this is just you know, when they trying to show the X-Files, they want to make sure people watch it, so they'll say some crazy stuff. But one of the crazy things I heard when they were trying to promote it was, you know, that like some secret government agency came to them like, hey, if it was gonna be done, it'd be done that way. Because I think one of the episodes was like it was a human dressing an alien body or something of that nature. But uh, you asked a good question. Why did Trump decide to direct his agency to do it now? That's a good question. I don't know what that question to answer that question is. It could be his MO usually is when there's a lot of public rhetoric and that's reach fever pitch, he goes to war. And now, this could be another thing. Uh, what because his wife, Melania, mentioned the Epstein files. So it could be again the Epstein files. Now, but there's a movie coming out June 12th, and that's disclosure day. And if I was one of those people trying to promote that movie, I would be trying to piggyback off this release of all these documents because it just kind of plays into the narrative. You know, we're not alone. So this it's really good now. But let me ask you this question, Ricky. Let's let me pose it this way: if you found out that there were aliens and they were living amongst us, amongst us, how would you feel? If you we someone told you that's the truth, and that's the truth, you knew it to be true. How would you react?

SPEAKER_00

I think I initially be excited, like that would be my first reaction, would be like, holy shit, because it kind of confirms what I feel, you know, and I think we like that whenever something goes our way, you know what I mean? Like you won a four and you roll a four, you're like, Holy shit, this is amazing. Um, and that's how I feel, you know. I don't feel it to the point where I would be willing to stake my life on it. Like if someone said, Hey, life or death, what you have to pick one gun to your head, I'm gonna be like, Okay, well, we're alone, because I haven't seen anything contrary to that. But a big part of me wants to believe. And so if someone were to say, like you said, you know, hey, they're here, they're already here among us, or whatever, I would be excited. I'm like, Yes, dude, like let's figure it out. Let's like let's learn, let's talk to them. Um, and that's how I feel. How would you how would you feel?

SPEAKER_01

I would feel much the same way. I would hope that we would approach it in a sense of an educational, like when you meet a different culture, you make first contact, obviously been living amongst us. So I would like, hey, why don't we educate ourselves? Why don't we sit down in the educational setting? Let's teach each other, what can we learn from each other? What can we what can we both build on? How do we, you know, mesh those together to where I want to know about your family, your race, what's what's proper, what's not proper, and and I'll tell teach you about us and what we're what our family life is. Like, is that dynamic the same? What can we learn? Where are you from? Is do you know things that maybe we don't know? Do you know if there's a God or not? Do you know, you know, when did your race you know come to be? How old, how old do you live? You know, how do you die? When when do you die? Can you die? Do you live forever? You know, all kinds of crazy things. So I would I would love to approach it like that. But what thing that comes to mind was there's this there's this guy in Hawaii, he was a tourist, he literally chunked a rock at this monk sale, and they're an endangered species, so they're protected. And then that kind of guy, you don't want that kind of guy to be in first contact, you know, because that could mess it up for the entire race. And you don't want that to happen. But that does come to mind because there are people like that. Some people just want to watch the world burn, some people just want to be different to be different, what have you. So I hope if they are, I think that it would be a great thing. I think because they're already amongst us, we're already living co-equally, so this is awesome, this is great. This is not like World War Z, you know, all these things where they're trying to kill us, that things of that nature, or it's not to say that they not in the future, we don't know, but being open-minded, I think, is the best recipe for success. And I think it'd be a good thing.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, exactly, man. I think, like you said, there's that person that's like we've all seen videos of these people, like, what are you doing, dude? Like, and they're among us, right? Like those people exist. And if the aliens were already here, well, then they know that, you know, they know, hey, these are the exceptions. Generally, people aren't like that. Um and so maybe they would ignore it, and maybe that's how the aliens are too. Maybe they have that portion of their little population that's like, okay, yeah, that those are just assholes, you know. Um, but maybe they transcended that. Uh, I'd be interested, like you said, where they come from. Uh, I want to, you know, I'd be interested in like what they like you said, like, is there a God? How do they see that? Because one thing I've heard uh is that if aliens exist, it kind of shatters the idea of God. And it's weird because it doesn't for me. There is no, I wouldn't have that crisis, you know, because when I think of God, I don't think of like a human because I think God is beyond that, right? And so kind of like it's like a weird thing when people are like, you know, is God a man or a woman? I'm like, that's not what I don't think that's what it is. Like the things that define a man or a woman are biology, God's beyond that, you know. And so to put God in the box of like a man or a woman is kind of strange to me. I understand why people do it because it helps them understand it, but I don't think that's at least for my definition. And so when I think aliens, I don't think it disrupts my, you know, the way I understand God. And I know my son, you know, we talked that. Have you seen that movie Elio? It's like a it's a movie movie. I like Elio. Yeah, it's a great fucking movie. And you know, the voiceover at the beginning and at the end was Carl Sagan, and he's like a big uh, you know, he was an astronomer, he was uh kind of like the original Bill Nye, but like a very scientific Bill Nye, not like uh Bill Nye now, where it's like more entertainment. He was like a true blue astronomer. Um, and and you know, at the very end, he's like, you know, some of these questions we have to ask that we've always asked is are we alone? You know, and I think that is the big question, always, you know, as as young as human beings have been, you know, you look up at the stars, you know, you're walking across this planet and you see another tribe or whatever, now you know you're not alone, and then then your tribe gets bigger, and all of a sudden now there's like another tribe that's across the ocean now instead of just across the plains, and now you know you're not alone across this ocean, and then all of a sudden the world is a circle, and now we know we're on this planet together, and then I think that's just the next level. Once we know the aliens, it's like okay, cool. Well, now we're on this realm together, you know. And so to me, it's comforting. I can see though, I understand why people are afraid of it because some people don't have stops ever. They they just think, you know, if I can see it and I could touch it, it's real. Anything outside of that, it's not, and it's scary when you when you get something else.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and our next topic, guys, is gonna be the HANTA virus. And I'm gonna let Ricky take this over.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so me and Rafa had a discussion before this. We didn't know how to pronounce it. I didn't know how to pronounce it. It's spelled HANTA, H-A-N-T-A. Um, but you know, everything I see on the internet, all these reels, all these like clips on Reddit or whatever, like it's not about you talking about it. It's always just like, you know, words on screen. So I didn't know how to pronounce it, so it's Hanta. Um, and so if you hear anybody discuss it, it's it's a virus, it's been around for a while. Um, and it's it for me, it reminds me of Ebola, right? Because if you remember Ebola back, I it was I think it was might have been Obama's first uh term where there was like this crazy outbreak and everybody was scared of it. It's kind of like that, where it's not a mamma virus, it's like definitely a like a natural organic virus, but then it could kill you, right? It's uh like an aggressive respiratory uh virus, and so apparently there was an outbreak in Argentina, and that's where it started-ish, at least this particular one, and there was a cruise ship that was sailing around the coast of uh South America, and this cruise ship had an out a confirmed outbreak, and now the people are quarantined, at least the Americans are quarantined in Nebraska. The issue is that was the final uh, you know, like if I've never been on a cruise ship, but I'm told that when you're on a cruise ship, you go to separate, you know, several uh those destinations, right? Like maybe four or five. Um, and you could choose to get off at some of them and like go back home, you know. And so there was a small group of Americans that got off in uh the Canary Islands somewhere in Africa, um, and they got off there and then they returned back to America. That's the issue. Now the rest of the ship, the rest of the crews continued along their traditional uh long voyage, and then those guys were on the water when the outbreak was confirmed. Now all of a sudden those guys are quarantined. But the issue is there is a small group of people who got off early and have returned to America. I've been told uh it's um Houston, Atlanta, and then somewhere in Arizona. So that's where they're at. Um, and you know, these cruise ships they got to manifest, you know, and you know, planes and all that, there's lists and things. So I can't imagine it's very gonna be very hard to figure out where they went, uh, especially in today's society where things are electronic. So odds are they're you know, not to sound crazy, but like let's trust in the process, the people who are whose job it is to track this shit down. I do trust them, you know, and they could probably find them. And then after that, we'll see. But that's just the current state of it.

SPEAKER_01

And it's crazy when you think, you know, you see all those movies, those virus outbreaks, you always look for patient zero and how this one person can spread it like crazy. And you know, that's concerning. But, you know, in reality, you know, there are measures put in place to quarantine these people, to find them, flag them down, and then quarantine them when they do have them. Uh, we've already been through so many different outbreaks, and we've always came out on top. I think the one that was the worst was the coronavirus, because literally the whole world shut down. And from that we saw, you know, wildlife retake the territory, which was just crazy cool. I mean, I still had to work. I was, you know, we had the the essential employees, whatever. But it was, um I do remember that time, and it was nice not having traffic on the road. It was nice just driving, doing my job, and then going back home to my family. But it's you know, I would I would recommend following an authority figure, not just you know, listen to you know, JF, the the our health secretary, you know, that guy that but uh kind of figure out who your expert is that you you trust and then listen to that person as guidance. Because I think sometimes our our agencies sometimes get a little too political. And that this this administration has definitely you know broke the lid off of the too political. So you now you don't, you know, now you question, well, I don't know if I should believe this guy, because when this administration came into play the second time, there's been preventable diseases on the rise that were once dormant, eradicated Arsenia resurgents because of his stance on vaccines, you know, the anti-vaccins or whatever. So, you know, I'm not saying you know, be stupid, I'm saying be smart and educated. Just understand, you know, that you know, vaccines are there to help, not hurt. Uh, do they cause autism? I don't fucking think so. Nothing's inherently safe, even water. Any amount can kill you if you over drink it. So just be mindful and be educated and find an authority figure you trust and you know, listen to them and just take normal precautions. I think the best thing you could do is wash your hands. I don't I don't think there's much things better than just washing your hands. But that being said, our last topic is sports, spurs. Ricky, take it away.

SPEAKER_00

All right. So for those of you that don't know, there is a new guy. Uh I think he's entering his third year. Uh his name is Victor Wimbayamba. He's French, and he is what a lot of people consider uh, you know, the next face of the NBA. He is by all accounts a generational talent. He is one of those athletes that's just a freak. Now, if you haven't seen him play, uh you know, I started watching him a lot this year. Before this, I kind of heard his name, but I was like, whatever, dude. Like, there's no like I just don't like the hype. You know what I mean? There's always hype around these players, and then you know, and so by the time I pay attention, I feel like okay, they've gone through that ringer and they're for real now. And that's when I really like to pay attention. And uh Victor was uh drafted by the Spurs, and obviously, as a Maverick fan, I hate the Spurs, but as a Texan, I love any Texas team. Now the Mavericks didn't make the playoffs, so I'm rooting for the Spurs. Um, and Houston was eliminated uh fucking first round by the Lakers. Um, but yeah, it's horrible. But uh yeah, but the Spurs, man, they were always been a good team, they've always played the fundamentals back when they had Tim Duncan, Manu Genobli, and Tony Parker. Like that is just an enormous, and none of them are flashy. I really respected their game. And you know, contrast that with the Golden State Warriors and with like LeBron and like this this big, like you know, showy, you know, the thing with the chalk that he does and all that, right? Like it's very loud and kind of like look at me basketball, whereas the Spurs don't play that, right? I think it was like I think me, you, Jimmy, you know, we were all at Jimmy's parents' house watching one of the finals where it was the Heat or might have been the Cavs versus uh the Spurs. And I think LeBron won that series. Um, but you know, the Spurs are just one of those, like I said, the one of those teams. And so you know, enter today, you got Victor Wimbayama, and he's a big guy, and he is seven foot four. Okay, now that's fucking massive. That's just enormous, right? I can't even I can't think about how tall that is. I've never seen anybody that tall. But not only is he tall, he's also a really skilled shooter, so he can shoot the ball really well. Also, he can fucking handle the ball really well, which is unique. Because typically, you know, tall players, they don't think if you think about like Shaquille O'Neal, for example, like one of the epitomies of like a big man, he doesn't really handle the ball well, he doesn't shoot well. Give it to him near the poop, and he can go up with it. Um, but in the in the playoff game yesterday, game three, Victor had 37 points and like 15 rebounds, like four blocks, just something ridiculous. The first game he played, he had like 12 blocks, the most blocks uh in a playoff game. So this and he's the defensive player of the year this year, so he is an animal and he's very athletic, which is unique. Again, big players don't really have that. Um, it's been a good series. I would recommend because I've been watching the playoffs. If anybody's paying attention, I would recommend to just watch that series the Timberwolves versus the Spurs, because that's the best series. Um, the Lakers are playing the uh OKC, the Oklahoma City Thunder, and it's not that I mean you know, it's playoff basketball, so it's gonna be good, but I just don't think it's like It's there, it's not that exciting to watch. On the east, you have the Knicks playing the 76ers. The Knicks just took a 3-0 lead. And if anybody knows much about like the Game 7 structure, that basically is like a death blow. Like you will not come back from a 3-0 deficit. Uh, and then you have uh who's the last team? It's the on the east, it's the Pistons versus the Cavaliers, and the Pistons are up, I think, 2-1. Either way, again, it's not very exciting. The only series worth watching, and I think the winner is gonna be either OKC and San Antonio Spurs, it's the whole thing. Whoever wins that series is gonna win the whole thing, but uh I think that's it. So that that's what's going on. That's the current state of the NBA.

SPEAKER_01

And Ricky brings up a good point. Like Victor Mambayama's generational talent. He should, he's gonna go down the thrones of history. Then we talk about three things the Invention of Fire, the Invention of the Summarine, and Victor Vamayama. That guy's a really good basketball player. I didn't know Ricky was a Dallas Mavericks fan. It it makes sense. I've been a Spurs fan since day one, since the you know that the original three. He had Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Mono Ginobili, the other Frenchmen. So these guys, Tony Parker came straight from high school, straight to the NBA. That's something that you know that's something that's that's not done often. Uh so I've always been a fan, you know, G Pop, he's no longer there, but he's still there behind the scenes. Uh Greg Popovich. So every time my sports do good, uh it's great. And it's and it's to watch a game, it's it's you should you should watch it. And if you're not into basketball, I bet you'd enjoy the game. And now's a really good time to watch it. But you're talking about that, like the uh the body language and and what's the traditional you know, NBA player, football player, you know, he doesn't really fit that mold. You know, I think people think the same thing about Tyson Fury, and he was a champion, he was knocking everybody out. He brought Francis Nugano or Anthony Joshua, who you think, you know, this guy's really good in shape. And Anthony Joshua, don't get me wrong, solid champ, right? But you know, not everybody fits the mold of an expert athlete. There's no body type, you know, it's all body types. If you're good and you're crafting your discipline, then you could be a world champion. And you know, so just I think hard work pays off. And I think that's what Victor brings to the table is that hard work dedication. And it's really I'm curious to see how it goes, and I'm looking forward to it. Uh, but guys, this is the OnlyDads Podcast. You have any tips, comments, or suggestions, please reach out to us at only dadspodcast at gmail.com. Ricky, you have the last word.

SPEAKER_00

Uh, there is a UFC fight today. I don't know what number it is. I think it's 238, maybe 338. Maybe I got those numbers wrong, but it's Sean Strickland. Uh, I I only know him because he's like a controversial guy on the internet, and he's fighting some guy. I I don't know what his name is his name is. The guy he's fighting is from um uh not Dagestan, he's from Chechnya, so he's from like just yeah, one of those crazy places.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, one of those guys. I know what you're talking about.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so uh it's on Paramount Plus, and that's a new thing that Dana White did with the UFC. He wanted to make the uh the fights more accessible, so he's getting away from a paper pay-per-view model, and he's putting all the big fights on uh Paramount Plus. I already have Paramount Plus, so I may just watch it just because it's there, you know what I mean? Um, so we'll see, but that's supposed to be a big fight. If y'all have any interest in it, go to YouTube and just watch, you know, type in Sean Strickland. They've been jawing back and forth, talking shit, and it's pretty funny uh to see them like the guy, the other guy, kicked Sean Strickland during the presser, like he fucking kicked him hard. And it was uh like after the weigh-ins or something, I think, is whenever he kicked him in. He kicked him like in his leg. And I remember thinking, like, holy shit, dude, like you're gonna hurt him, and the fight's off, you know. Like, that's why you want to keep those guys separated because you don't want the you don't want anybody to get injured before the fucking fight. So interesting to see. So uh we'll we'll come back with those results later. But Ralph, I know you're you're a C guy. Uh, who do you think is gonna win it? How do you think is gonna go down?

SPEAKER_01

Uh I'm assuming Strickland. No, I'm thinking that's Strickland, the other guy. Just because I like uh he's he's from that same area, I forget his name.

SPEAKER_00

Kazmat Shimaev is his name.

SPEAKER_01

I think I got that guy winning. Yeah, uh just because of what I know about him and the work ethic that that that uh culture brings, and it's it's serious. And uh Cazmat, yeah, that's the guy who I think is gonna win, and I'm willing to stake some money on it. The question is, are you willing to stake some money on it?

SPEAKER_00

I don't know enough. I don't know enough.

SPEAKER_01

So then listen, I I haven't watched GFC for a while now, just because it's kind of fallen out of favor, but I got Casmat winning. That's the final here. You heard it here first. Only that's podcasts.
